Based in London since 2000, saxophonist Pete Grogan’s personal approach to playing, writing and arranging has seen him work with a wide variety of artists, producing live and recorded credits that stretch from rock, pop, soul and jazz to the avant-garde and animation.

Pete plays with Barclaycard Mercury Music Award Nominees Led Bib (BBC2, Channel4, BBC Radio 2, 6Music, XFM), has recorded with Ed Sheeran, The Heavy (Hurt And The Merciless), recorded and toured with Comedian Alex Horne and The Horne Section, appearing on Channel 4 and various radio broadcasts (Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Radio 4, BBC1) and recorded with Adam Riches for Radio 4 (The Guns Of Adam Riches).

As a composer and arranger, Pete’s work has been featured on Magic Light Pictures’ animated realisation of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes. This was broadcast for the first time on BBC1 and has since been adapted for a live tour culminating with a sold out showing at The Royal Festival Hall and played by the The Southbank Sinfonia. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm8702034/

Pete has also recorded, written and arranged for various radio broadcasts, regular sessions on Cartoon Network’s Gumball in addition to putting his voice to the original work of numerous London based musicians and artists. He has played residencies and shows across London in some of the Capital’s historical music venues (Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Jazz Cafe, Kings Place, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Hideaway, The Vortex) and fronts his own 8 piece horn lead band for which he writes, plays and arranges (ThePGHips).

Pete can also be heard with London based Big Band The Brothers Ignatius, The Hackney Colliery Band, The Atlantic Soul Orchestra and also works as an examiner for the global examining board Trinity.
